Our Digitization Project
The American Hungarian Foundation is proud to announce our partnership with Arcanum Digitheca. Over the past three years we have been planning and meeting with companies to digitize some of our newspapers and other materials that were of the utmost importance in our archive. Now we can proudly say IT IS HAPPENING!

This project directly addresses the AHF’s mission to COLLECT, CONSERVE, and CELEBRATE. First, it makes records of historical value and American Hungarian significance freely accessible to a wide public audience. The creation of digital arrogates ensures broad use of materials that certainly enhance our knowledge of the American Hungarian history and culture. Second, the project proves the the use of the Hungarica (Hungarian American) documentary heritage. The project will be heavily promoted to historians and scholars in various disciplines and countries. Third, the project guarantees that long-term preservation of American Hungarian historical record collections so that they may be used by generations to come.
The valuable historical evidence will be preserved in digital format, and the original materials also will benefit from the reduction in physical handling. We are asking our greater American Hungarian community to contribute to this special project. We have received a starting grant from the Hungarian Initiatives Foundation (HIF). This will help secure the future of the documents, heritage and Hungarica history housed within AHF to prevent loss of quality. Digital data can be propagated indefinitely with absolutely no degradation. This is why it is a favored way of preserving information for many organizations around the world. Making it available for future generations of American Hungarians.
